Engineering Lead (Backend)

Location : San Francisco, CA | New York | Remote (US or Canada)
Pay Structure : $150K–$200K + 0.5–1% Equity | Full-time

As Engineering Lead (Backend), you’ll own everything backend — infra, APIs, and DevOps — to build the intelligence layer that powers our emotionally aware AI. You’ll transition our C#/.NET system to Python/Go microservices, integrate LLMs, manage vector DBs, and design real-time personalization systems.

What You’ll Do :

• Lead backend architecture, API design, and infrastructure on AWS.

• Build and maintain robust REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices.

• Integrate and optimize LLM/ML systems (OpenAI, Claude, etc.).

• Implement emotion-aware and memory-driven personalization logic.

• Manage CI/CD, observability, and SOC-2 readiness.

What We’re Looking For :

• 6–15 years in backend or full-stack development (startup experience preferred).

• Strong with C#/.NET, Python (FastAPI, AWS Lambda), PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS.

• Experience with LLMs, vector databases, and microservice architecture.
