Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Key Tasks and Deliverables
  • Analyze BMS software requirements and convert them into clear, testable DVP test cases.
  • Execute Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and System Testing for BMS functionalities.
  • Perform BMS diagnostics and fault simulations to ensure system robustness.
  • Validate core BMS functions including SOC, SOH, cell balancing, voltage protection, and thermal protection.
  • Develop and execute CAN‑based validation tests and ensure correctness of CAN/UDS signals.
  • Conduct regression testing for every software release to ensure functional stability.
  • Log, track, and close issues using Jira/ALM.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and ASPICE during all validation activities.
  • Support vehicle‑level BMS validation and field issue reproduction.

  • 2. Critical Must‑Have Deliverables
  • High‑quality test case creation aligned with BMS DVP requirements.
  • Accurate reporting of issues with reproducible evidence and traceability.
  • Timely execution of all test cycles including regression and diagnostic testing.
  • Adherence to safety and ASPICE process standards.
  • Reliable validation of CAN/UDS communication and BMS algorithms.

  • 3. Good‑to‑Have Deliverables
  • Creation of test automation scripts using CAPL or VTest Studio.
  • Support for test bed automation and data visualization improvements.
  • Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives in BMS testing workflows.
  • Assistance in MATLAB/Simulink model‑based validation activities.

  • Experience
  • 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in BMS or EV Powertrain testing.
  • Experience in CANoe/CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, HV battery systems, and data analysis.
  • Exposure to automotive testing methodologies (V‑model) and embedded systems.

  • Industry Preferred
  • Automotive OEMs and Tier‑1 EV component suppliers with exposure to:
  • EV Powertrain, BMS testing, battery systems, and high-voltage architectures.

    Qualifications
  • B.E. in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certification in EV systems, battery technology, or automotive testing standards (preferred but not mandatory).

  • General Requirements

    Functional Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of lithium‑ion battery chemistry, BMS architecture, EV systems, and power electronics.
  • Hands‑on expertise with:
  • CAN and UDS protocols
  • Vector tools (CANoe / CANalyzer)
  • ETAS INCA
  • Test standards for EV powertrain & battery testing
  • Ability to perform data-driven root cause analysis and test report creation.
  • Basic proficiency in C programming, CAPL scripting, and VTest Studio.

  • Tools & Techniques

  • MATLAB / Simulink (basic)
  • Test automation frameworks
  • CAN tools, INCA, Vector suite
