Role Overview:

The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Head will lead EHS strategy and governance across the organization's manufacturing operations in India, overseeing plants at Rudrapur, Manesar, and Chennai.

EHS Leadership & Governance:
  • Develop and continuously improve EHS management systems, policies, and operational controls.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with statutory EHS regulations, including Factories Act, Environmental Protection Act, and related safety standards.
  • Establish EHS objectives, track performance metrics, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.

  • Environmental Management & Sustainability:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (Water, Air, Hazardous Waste) and corporate sustainability requirements.
  • Oversee operations and compliance of ETP, STP, RO, and MEE systems.
  • Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead environmental monitoring, ISO 14001 compliance, and engagement with regulatory authorities.

  • Safety Systems & Risk Management:
  • Implement and strengthen Occupational Health & Safety and Emergency Management systems across plants.
  • Lead risk assessment initiatives (HIRA) and maintain an updated risk register to reduce operational hazards.
  • Ensure effective implementation of LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and contractor safety management.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and emergency mock drills to enhance preparedness.

  • Capability Building & Safety Culture:
  • Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors across plants.
  • Build internal capabilities through safety awareness initiatives, training matrices, and safety campaigns.
  • Lead safety committees, recognition programs, and engagement activities to strengthen the safety culture.

  • Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
  • Track and present EHS KPIs (leading & lagging indicators) to leadership through MIS reporting.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits, compliance reviews, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record management for statutory compliance and safety performance.

  • Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • ME / M.Tech in Health, Safety & Environment Management or equivalent.
  • Additional certifications such as Industrial Safety / Environmental Management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, environmental systems, and risk management practices.
  • 13 - 16 years' experience in EHS with 4 - 6 years' experience in FMCG industries.
  • Experience managing multi-site EHS operations.
