Job Summary

This new role is critical to establishing and embedding a Global Centre of Excellence in the heart of the Finance organization. The Director, Global Finance Centre of Excellence will lead the implementation of the new team and be a highly visible advocate for the team and the services it delivers. The initial focus will be on standing up the team and managing the successful transition of Controlling activities from current locations. Thereafter, focus will shift to ensuring excellent service delivery, by developing a suite of operational KPIs to manage the performance of the Centre of Excellence team, developing clear channels of communication and strong relationships with the retained Finance teams and establishing Service Level Agreements and points of contact with Studio teams to ensure expectations on service delivery are clearly defined and monitored. A culture that drives continuous improvement will also be embedded. The Global Centre of Excellence is also expected to be fully involved in key projects, including Finance systems implementation and performance improvement initiatives to achieve best in class revenue processes and improve working capital. The Director, Finance Centre of Excellence will work alongside other Senior Finance team leaders and be a strong advocate for our Finance Excellence vision to be trusted business partners that champion growth, create value and manage risk.

Key Responsibilities The Director, Global Finance Centre of Excellence will direct and develop the Centre of Excellence team and ensure delivery of the following key activities:

Centre of Excellence Set Up
  • Work with Finance leadership to create the blueprint for the Global Centre of Excellence including scope of services, detailed team structure, hiring plans and transition management approach
  • Create a resourcing model and detailed roles profiles to enable the hiring of team members
  • Manage the hiring and onboarding of team members
  • Ensure office infrastructure, systems access and other enablers are ready for when team members onboard
  • Establish the working arrangements for the team including working hours, office/hybrid working, approach to team building and staff engagement
  • Manage the transition of work to the Centre of Excellence, ensuring that process guides and work instructions are documented and that comprehensive readiness assessments are performed before ownership of any work transitions to the Centre of Excellence
  • Manage the post transition Hypercare period ensuring that any issues around service delivery are quickly remediated
  • Take part in activities to communicate the Centre of Excellence purpose, operation and team ensuring that users are crystal clear on how to engage with the team

  • Service Delivery
  • Maintain a detailed and up to date record of all in scope activities ‘service catalogue’ being delivered and the key stakeholders to refer to for support service delivery and to handoff deliverables
  • Operate a resource plan to ensure that staff are available to perform activities according to the agreed timetable including at peak times and during holiday periods
  • Deliver services and maintain a set of operational KPIs that can track timelines, cost and accuracy of service delivery
  • Develop escalation paths with the retained Finance teams so it is clear who should be contacted in the Centre of Excellence team to help resolve queries
  • Work with the teams in the Studios to develop Service Level Agreements that set out clear expectations on service delivery and turnaround times for managing queries and exceptions
  • Put in place periodic management / peer reviews to test that services are being delivered according to agreed processes and work instruction
  • As directed, participate in activities to support external and internal audit
  • Working with the Group Financial Controlling and other Finance Teams
  • Partner with the Directors, Regional Controlling to review performance and identify opportunities to improve service delivery
  • Take part in activities with the Regional Controller’s team to build the Centre of Excellence team’s understanding of key business drivers, resolve issues and jointly develop opportunities for process improvement
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller’s team, including Tax and Finance Systems to leverage existing know-how around process and systems
