This role bridges the gap between artistic 3D visuals and the rigorous technical accuracy required for a 10,000-unit production run. Where others see a beautiful render, the Pattern Engineer sees seam allowances, grain lines, shrinkage factors, and graded size sets. Their singular mandate: ensure the First Proto is the Final Proto.Responsibilities:Transform approved 3D designs into technical DXF patterns compliant with ASTM/AAMA standards, ready for cutting room execution.Validate garment fit using Stress and Tension Heat Maps to ensure digital samples align precisely with physical fit test outcomes.Manage digital grading across the full size range (XSXXL), maintaining technical accuracy and proportion across the entire collection.Input actual wash-shrinkage data into 2D patterns to ensure the 3D visual accurately represents the after-wash garment appearance and dimensions.Collaborate with the Lead 3D Fashion Technologist to ensure alignment between client-facing visuals and technically sound underlying patterns.Maintain a structured pattern library with full version control, ensuring traceability for all approved designs. QualificationsBachelors Degree in Fashion Technology / Apparel ProductionBachelors Degree in Textile TechnologyDiploma or Degree in Fashion Design / Pattern Making / Garment TechnologyRequired SkillsOptitex, Gerber, or Lectra CADCLO 3D or Style3D simulationDXF pattern export & formattingHeat Map stress analysisKnit fabric behaviour & mathsShrinkage calculation & applicationDigital grading precision (XSXXL)Detail-oriented QC mindset
