Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

1. Overview: The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in our operations, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of diesel engines and associated equipment. This position aims to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of heavy machinery used in construction, mining, and other sectors, delivering high-quality service and minimizing downtime for our fleet.

2. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on excavators, construction equipment, and mining machinery.
• Replace and repair parts such as fuel injectors, pumps, and filters.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and parts used.
• Communicate issues and solutions effectively with team members and management.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices while working on machinery.
• Assist in training junior mechanics and support team development.

3. Technical Skills:

• Proficient in diesel engine diagnostics and repair techniques.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems in diesel machinery.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience with welding and fabrication related to equipment repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

4. Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; diploma or degree in Diesel Mechanics or a related field preferred.
• Valid diesel mechanic certification or equivalent accreditation.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a diesel mechanic in a professional setting.

5. Skills & Experience:

• Experience working with various types of excavators and construction equipment.
• Hands-on experience with mining machineries and their maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify mechanical issues swiftly.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance best practices and procedures.
