Posted on: 8 days ago

We are seeking an experienced data engineer / database architect to help design and implement the first phase of a Business Operating System (BOS) for a growing FMCG brand.

The objective is to replace a complex spreadsheet-based reporting environment with a structured operational data warehouse that supports sales analytics, SKU demand modelling, pricing and margin analysis, inventory tracking, and operational planning.
The project architecture and functional requirements have already been defined.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the database layer, including raw data ingestion (Shopify, Xero, freight/logistics files), core master tables (products, bundles/BOM, pricing, customers, distributors), and derived fact tables such as true SKU demand, margin contribution, and inventory position.
This role requires strong experience in SQL-based data modelling, warehouse architecture, and building reproducible transformation pipelines (e.g. PostgreSQL, dbt, Python or similar). Experience working with e-commerce and FMCG data models is highly desirable.

The developer will work closely with the business owner to translate the existing specifications into a clean, scalable database structure that supports rebuildable data pipelines and reporting views for Excel/BI tools.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.
