About the Role / Job Summary:

A leading AI-driven technology company is hiring for a Data Transformation Engineer to build and manage scalable data pipelines that transform raw structured and unstructured data into analytics- and AI-ready datasets. The role focuses on ETL/ELT development, data normalization, and transformation logic supporting downstream AI and automation workflows.

They develop reusable core technology for healthcare, professional services, manufacturing, and other regulated industries, supported by experienced financial and strategic partners for long-term focus and disciplined execution.

• Data ingestion from complex and non-standard sources such as portals, PDFs, legacy systems, and APIs
• Orchestration of workflows across heterogeneous enterprise systems
• Controlled and auditable AI enablement embedded into real operational processes.

About the Founder : The Company is founded and led by an accomplished entrepreneur and technology strategist with an international background across Italy, Europe, and the United States, having a strong track record of building and operating technology initiatives in complex environments and is actively involved in product architecture and strategic decision-making.

Working Model: Hybrid / Remote-first (Possibility to come to Dubai for initial on-site working sessions — a few days at a time; potential for longer-term mobility to Dubai depending on candidate growth and mutual interest.)

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain ETL / ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
• Transform and normalize structured and unstructured data
• Develop transformation logic for embeddings, chunking, and model-ready datasets
• Orchestrate workflows using Airflow, Prefect, or equivalent tools
• Implement data validation, quality checks, and monitoring
• Collaborate with AI and backend teams on data automation workflows

Primary Skills (Must-Have):

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or data transformation
• Strong ETL / ELT pipeline development experience
• Hands-on with Pandas and/or PySpark
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills
• Experience with Airflow / Prefect / ADF
• Experience handling structured and semi-structured data

Secondary Skills (Good-to-Have):

• DBT
• Snowflake / BigQuery / Redshift / PostgreSQL
• Supabase exposure
• Vector database familiarity (Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate)
• Cloud platforms: AWS / Azure / GCP

Additional Requirements:

• Clear English communication, written and verbal
• Experience working in agile / sprint-based environments
• Comfortable with async-first collaboration tools (Notion, Linear, GitHub Projects)
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently
• Prior exposure to regulated industries (finance, healthcare, logistics) is a plus
• Ability to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams

Working Days: Monday to Friday
