Overview:
  • We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our healthcare team. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the exchange of hematology results and data between Orchard Harvest LIS (Laboratory Information System) and Care Evolve portal. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional data entry skills, a solid understanding of hematology and general chemistry terminology, and a commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance.

    • Responsibilities:
  • Data Entry: Efficiently and accurately enter hematology results and related data into Orchard Harvest LIS and Care Evolve portal.
  • Portal Management: Manage the exchange of data between Orchard Harvest LIS and Care Evolve portal, ensuring seamless communication and timely transmission of information.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews of entered data to ensure accuracy and completeness, flagging any discrepancies or errors for immediate correction.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and guidelines in handling sensitive patient information, maintaining confidentiality and security at all times.
  • Communication: Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and IT personnel to troubleshoot any issues related to data exchange and ensure smooth operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of data entry activities, including logs of exchanged information and any relevant communications.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to new staff members on the use of Orchard Harvest LIS and Care Evolve portal for hematology data entry.

    • Qualifications:
  • Education: University/College grad preferred. Additional certification in medical coding or healthcare administration is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in data entry within a healthcare setting is highly desirable, particularly in hematology or laboratory services. Familiarity with Orchard Harvest LIS and Care Evolve portal is a significant advantage.
  • Full Remote setup, with laptop and an extra monitor, headset and reliable internet access

    • Skills:
  • Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy and speed.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, especially in the field of hematology.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new software systems quickly.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining compliance in all aspects of the job.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to overall departmental goals.

    • Additional Information:
  • This position will start off as a part time position 20 hours a week for the first month and will ramp into a full time position.
  • The role may require occasional overtime or weekend work during peak periods.
  • Training will be provided on the specific use of Orchard Harvest LIS and Care Evolve portal, as well as on HIPAA compliance and data security protocols.
