Position Summary

Level: Consultant or equivalent

We are seeking an Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) Developer to build and operationalize marketing analytics and activation solutions. This role partners with Marketing, Product, and Data teams to deliver trusted customer data pipelines, identity resolution, segmentation, and cross-channel journey orchestration, supported by strong engineering fundamentals in SQL, ETL, Python, cloud platforms, and data visualization.

Work you’ll do:

AEP / AJO delivery
  • Design, develop, and maintain AEP schemas, datasets, dataflows, and data governance-aligned configurations to support marketing analytics and activation.
  • Implement and optimize AJO journeys, message templates, and channel configurations (e.g., email/push/SMS, as applicable).
  • Build and manage audience segmentation and support activation use cases (e.g., lifecycle, churn prevention, propensity-driven journeys).
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate marketing measurement needs into AEP/AJO technical designs (events, attributes, profile enablement, and downstream consumption).

  • Data engineering (SQL / ETL / Python)
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest and transform data from sources such as CRM, web/app analytics, ad platforms, and transactional systems into AEP and analytics layers.
  • Write high-quality SQL for profiling, transformation, validation, and performance tuning across warehouses/lakes.
  • Use Python for orchestration, automation, data quality checks, API integrations, and lightweight services/utilities supporting marketing data operations.
  • Establish data quality controls: reconciliation, anomaly detection, lineage documentation, and runbook procedures.

  • Cloud & platform operations
  • Build and operate solutions on cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP), leveraging managed services for compute, storage, orchestration, and monitoring.
  • Implement secure data handling practices (PII controls, encryption, access management) and support audit/compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines and journey execution; drive continuous improvements for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

  • Analytics enablement & visualization
  • Create curated datasets (semantic layers/marts) for marketing performance reporting and experimentation measurement.
  • Build dashboards and automated reporting in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, enabling self-service insights for marketers and executives.
  • Define and support KPI frameworks (e.g., conversion, retention, LTV, attribution inputs), ensuring metric consistency across teams.

    Qualifications

    Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
  • 3 - 6 years of hands-marketing data engineering, martech development, or marketing analytics engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) implementations in production environments.
  • Strong SQL skills (complex joins, window functions, performance tuning, data modeling).
  • Strong ETL/ELT experience (batch and/or streaming), including data validation and observability.
  • Proficiency in Python for data workflows and automation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern data stacks (data lake/warehouse concepts, orchestration, CI/CD).
  • Experience delivering dashboards and analytical datasets for marketing and product stakeholders.

  • Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
  • Familiarity with customer identity resolution , event-based data modeling , and customer 360/profile concepts.
  • Experience with real-time/event streaming (e.g., Kafka/Kinesis/ PubSub ) and/or API-driven integrations.
  • Knowledge of marketing measurement approaches (incrementality/experimentation, attribution concepts, funnel analytics).
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks and marketing consent/privacy requirements.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD , au tomated testing, and infrastructure-as-code (tooling varies).
