Job Title: Assistant/ Associate Director – Credit Review & Analysis

  • Role Overview

    We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned credit professional to join our Lending Services division. In this leadership role, you will oversee the quality, accuracy, and delivery of credit analysis services provided to our global clients. You will also mentor and manage a team of analysts, drive process excellence, and ensure adherence to SLAs and global best practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Quality, Review & Domain Leadership
  • Ensure high-quality delivery across all credit operations workflows, including financial spreading, credit appraisal, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Perform detailed quality checks, lead training initiatives, mentor junior analysts, and drive continuous upskilling.
  • Provide deep domain expertise on credit notes, credit appraisals, and risk rating assignments.

  • Credit Analysis & Research
  • Spread and analyse financial statements of public and private corporates using client proprietary platforms.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial and qualitative assessments for credit underwriting.
  • Independently perform industry and borrower-level research to identify relevant KPIs and risk indicators.
  • Prepare written credit appraisals, credit notes, and risk rating rationales for credit approval committees.
  • Monitor borrower covenants, perform validations, and proactively flag Early Warning Signals (EWS).

  • Team Leadership & Client Management
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of analysts while planning workloads and ensuring SLA adherence.
  • Collaborate closely with global client teams to ensure smooth project delivery and timely escalation of issues.
  • Support hiring, training, and performance management activities for the team.

  • Process Improvement & Thought Leadership
  • Champion process enhancements, automation initiatives, and value-added improvements to client deliverables.
  • Develop thought leadership content such as blogs and whitepapers on emerging trends in commercial lending and credit risk.
  • Contribute to building a strong delivery setup with robust governance, feedback mechanisms, and best‑practice frameworks.

  • Key Competencies & Requirements:
  • 15–20 years of experience in commercial/wholesale lending across origination, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Proven experience managing large teams in credit operations, shared services, or COE setups.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end commercial lending value chain, including financial analysis, credit underwriting, covenant monitoring, and portfolio risk oversight.
  • Hands-on experience preparing credit appraisals, assigning risk ratings, drafting credit notes, and conducting ongoing monitoring.
  • Excellent grasp of corporate financial statements, ratios, and credit risk frameworks.
  • Sector specialization (optional) will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in service delivery setup, process transitions, and operational governance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with global stakeholders.
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or CFA qualification (full/partial) preferred.
  • Highly analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting tight deadlines with accuracy and integrity.
