Job Title: Credit Control Manager


1. Overview:

The Credit Control Manager will oversee the credit control processes and manage the accounts receivable activities to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices while minimizing credit risk. This role aims to enhance cash flow and maintain positive client relationships through effective credit control strategies and communication.


2. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures to optimize the collection process.

  • Monitor outstanding invoices and maintain accurate records of account status.

  • Coordinate with the sales team to identify potential credit risks and recommend solutions.

  • Conduct regular credit assessments of clients to evaluate creditworthiness.

  • Prepare and analyze reports on receivables, cash flow, and aging accounts.

  • Lead a team of credit controllers, providing training and guidance as needed.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with clients to facilitate timely payment.

  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements with clients facing financial difficulties.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in credit management.


3. Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis and financial reporting.

  • Familiarity with accounting software and credit management systems.

  • Knowledge of automation tools and processes in finance functions.

  • Ability to generate and interpret financial reports and data.


4. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certification in credit management (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit control or accounts receivable management.


5. Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interactions and team collaboration.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively handle multiple priorities.

  • Proven negotiation skills with a track record of resolving issues amicably.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges in the credit control process.
