Job Title: Content Creator

Location: Visakhapatnam Campus

Role Purpose

GITAM has numerous meaningful stories across research, applied education, student life, innovation, and community engagement. Many of these stories remain unseen because they are documented only as announcements, milestones, or routine event coverage. The Content Creators role is to identify these stories within the campus environment and translate them into compelling videos for digital platforms. The focus is not on storytelling that reveals the substance and impact of academic work, research, faculty initiatives, and student activity.

For example, a newly built laboratory is not simply an infrastructure update. It becomes meaningful when students demonstrate how the lab enables experiments, projects, and real- world applications. The role, therefore, requires curiosity, observation, and the ability to translate academic work into stories audiences can easily understand. Each campus creator works within their campus ecosystem to identify stories as they emerge and communicate them through short-form storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Identify stories from academic work, research activity, student projects, faculty initiatives, and campus life.

Translate complex academic work into clear visual stories that show how learning, experimentation, and research create real outcomes.

Capture stories through interviews, demonstrations, contextual visuals, and supporting footage.

Document applied learning in classrooms, laboratories, studios, and field work environments.

Showcase student achievements, faculty work, research outcomes, and community engagement initiatives.

Move beyond routine event coverage and focus on the substance behind the activity.

Observe campus life and identify moments that reflect the university& intellectual and cultural life.

Develop short-form digital stories for Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X.

Adapt relevant social media storytelling formats to suit the GITAM context.

Work with the marketing team to align stories with institutional priorities and themes.

Basic Requirements

Strong curiosity about academic work, research activity, and student projects.

Ability to identify interesting angles within everyday campus activity.

Presence of mind to ask questions and draw meaningful responses from students and faculty.

Ability to think from the viewers perspective while capturing visual material.

Comfort shooting video using DSLR cameras or smartphones.

Basic editing ability to assemble short video stories.

Ability to work independently within a campus environment.

Preferred Profile

Experience creating short video content for social media platforms such as Instagram.

Evidence of independently produced digital content.

Evidence of independently handling an Instagram account
