Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Communications Specialist/Social Media Content Creator serves as a key strategist responsible for developing and implementing an integrated social media program and writing/editing content for a variety of purposes — social media, newsletters, websites, and communications campaigns. Working in collaboration with the communications team, SMEs, and other stakeholders, this individual creates engaging and informative content that tells the FM story and enhances the organizational image. The Communications Specialist manages day-to-day social media operations, including shooting and editing photos and short videos, content scheduling, posting, and responding to comments and messages. The ideal candidate for this position should be adept at crafting clear and concise content that effectively communicates complex information to diverse audiences, have an exceptional eye for aesthetics, and enjoy a hands-on approach to tracking down and sharing great stories via meaningful images and words. Experience: At least (6) six years of experience creating and managing engaging social media content and writing/editing print and digital content for various purposes. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing content strategy. • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices. • Demonstrated experience using graphic design and video applications. • Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle projects under deadline pressure and amid changing priorities. • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail can produce error-free work. • Ability to take the initiative to solve problems and deliver results without close supervision. • Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents within a highly diverse university environment. • Customer service focus, collegial work style, and a keen sense of diplomacy to facilitate effective collaboration.
