Business Finance Analyst (MIS)

Reports To:

Finance Lead / Founder (initially)

Role Objective

To design, maintain and improve structured financial and operational reporting systems, including revenue tracking, client profitability, ageing analysis, cost allocation, and management dashboards, to enable leadership decision-making.

Core Responsibilities

1️ Revenue & Client Reporting

- Monthly revenue report (client-wise)
- Service-wise revenue split
- Vertical-wise revenue split
- Forecast vs actual tracking
- Retainer billing tracker

2️ Client Profitability Analysis

Support time-based costing model:

- Map revenue vs allocated hours
- Identify low-margin clients
- Highlight scope leakage

3️ Ageing & Receivables Control

- Weekly ageing report
- 30/60/90-day bucket analysis
- Collection follow-up tracker
- Cash inflow projection

4️ Cost & Salary Allocation

- Department salary cost sheet
- Cost per hour calculation support
- Hiring impact modelling
- Utilization reporting

5️ Operational MIS Support

Work with the Delivery Lead to:

- Track billable hours
- Track utilisation %
- Map scope deviation
- Create a dashboard for leadership

6️ Monthly Management Dashboard

Prepare by the 5th of every month:

- Revenue summary
- Gross margin
- Department-level cost summary
- Ageing report
- Cash forecast
- Hiring impact
- Client profitability snapshot

Required Skills

Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (mandatory)

Strong with formulas (INDEX, MATCH, QUERY, PIVOT)

Basic financial understanding (P&L, margin, cash flow)

Experience in MIS reporting (2-5 years)

Comfortable handling large datasets

Detail-oriented

Structured & documentation-heavy

Preferred:

- Experience in a marketing agency
- Experience in Zoho Analytics / Power BI
- Basic understanding of time allocation systems
