We're forming a brand-new Specialized Indexing team within our SQL organization to take database indexing far beyond traditional relational workloads. If you've ever wanted to work at the intersection of distributed databases and AI-native applications, this is that role.

What you'll build:

• High-performance vector, full-text, and geospatial indexing systems


• Hybrid search capabilities combining vector similarity and text-based search


• Production-grade features integrated directly into a distributed SQL engine

What we're looking for:


• 10+ years building large-scale, production systems


• Strong background in backend/systems programming — Go, C/C++, or Rust preferred


• Hands-on experience with indexing or query execution (vector, text, or spatial)


• Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems


• Genuine curiosity about AI-driven and hybrid data workloads
