About Us

NHS Golden Jubilee is a national institution with a unique mission: to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care while supporting Scotland’s health service through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

As a major national resource, we combine a modern elective hospital, world‑leading heart and lung services, and a growing expansion programme — all underpinned by a commitment to excellence in safety, quality, and experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

Our Facilities & Capital Projects team plays a critical role in ensuring our estate meets the highest standards of statutory compliance, resilience, and sustainability. Joining us means joining a forward‑thinking, supportive organisation that empowers its people to drive meaningful improvement and positive change.

About The Role

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Facilities & Capital Projects, you will be the organisation’s professional lead for fire risk management and estates‑related statutory compliance. This is a highly influential position, shaping how NHS Golden Jubilee maintains safe, compliant, and future‑proof environments across a complex and evolving estate.

You Will
  • Lead and coordinate robust fire safety and statutory compliance systems, including Fire Risk Assessments, SCART audits, and estates safety inspections.
  • Provide expert technical advice at both strategic and operational levels on fire safety legislation, building regulations, and estates compliance.
  • Develop and deliver prioritised action plans that support continuous improvement across Facilities & Capital Projects.
  • Produce clear, detailed reports to support assurance, decision‑making, and risk management.
  • Work closely with internal teams, external regulators, and enforcing authorities to ensure we meet — and exceed — statutory duties.
  • Support incident investigations and contribute to organisational learning and preventative measures.
  • Play an influential role in new build and refurbishment projects by ensuring compliance is embedded from concept to completion.

  • Your expertise will directly influence staff safety, patient wellbeing, and the continued resilience and growth of NHS Golden Jubilee’s estate. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our environments are safe, compliant, and future‑ready — making a real difference every single day

    About You

You will bring strong professional credibility, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to influence at all levels. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced environment, balancing operational demands with long‑term strategic priorities.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
  • A relevant Health & Safety qualification (minimum IOSH).
  • Competency as a Fire Risk Assessor.
  • Experience working within fire safety, estates, or building maintenance departments.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, regulations, and Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (including fire code).
  • Experience in multi‑agency or multi‑site environments.
  • Confidence in using key systems such as SCART, EAMS, and Fire Risk Management tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report‑writing skills.
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands, motivate others, and drive compliance culture forward.

If you are proactive, detail‑focused, and passionate about delivering high‑quality compliance across a complex healthcare environment, we’d love to hear from you.
