Role Overview:
As an Assistant Vice President Wholesale Credit at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in analyzing counterparties in the Financial Institutions Group [FIG] Segment of HSBC Europe and providing appropriate recommendation/approval comments within delegated lending authorities. You will be responsible for taking full ownership of the portfolio, working independently on credit proposals, and collaborating closely with colleagues to reach solutions. Additionally, you will participate in credit/risk meetings, monitor risk events, and contribute to audit, regulatory initiatives, and internal projects related to credit risk management. Representing WCRM CoE in Shared Services and New Business initiatives will also be part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze counterparties in the Financial Institutions Group [FIG] Segment of HSBC Europe and prepare appropriate recommendation/approval comments
- Take full ownership of the portfolio and support high volumes
- Work independently on credit proposals in collaboration with colleagues
- Participate in credit/risk meetings with Front Office/HSBC WCRM colleagues
- Monitor risk events and escalate timely to management
- Prepare for audit, regulatory initiatives, and internal projects related to credit risk management
- Represent WCRM CoE in Shared Services and New Business initiatives

Qualifications Required:
- Graduate degree in commerce/economics/management/engineering
- Qualifications in Finance/CA/ICWA/CS/CAIIB preferred
- 7 years of relevant experience in Large Corporate Credit/Bank/Insurance/NBFI assessments
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit lending products, and dynamics of financial institutions
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting data and reaching meaningful conclusions
- Excellent interpersonal, English communication, and negotiation skills
- Customer-centric mindset
- Resilience to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
