Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Training

- Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Classical Dance theory and practice.
- Conduct practical training sessions, rehearsals, and choreography workshops.
- Demonstrate classical dance techniques, expressions (abhinaya), rhythm (tala), and body movements.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, and assessment methods.

Performance & Choreography

- Guide students in stage performances, productions, and dance recitals.
- Choreograph performances for academic events, festivals, and competitions.
- Encourage students to develop creative choreography within classical traditions.

Student Mentorship

- Mentor students in performance skills, stage presentation, and professional development.
- Supervise student research, dissertations, and final performance projects.
- Assist students in building portfolios for professional dance careers.

Research & Academic Development

- Conduct research in classical dance, performing arts, or related cultural studies.
- Publish research papers, articles, or creative works.
- Participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops related to performing arts.

Departmental & Institutional Activities

- Participate in curriculum development and academic committees.
- Organize cultural programs, dance festivals, workshops, and guest lectures.
- Contribute to institutional outreach programs and collaborations with cultural organizations.

Required Qualifications

- Master's Degree (MFA / MA) in Classical Dance or Performing Arts from a recognized institution.
- NET / PhD preferred as per UGC or institutional guidelines.
- Formal training in recognized classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali, or Manipuri.
