The company exports to multiple international markets across Africa, CIS, and Southeast Asia and operates under strict GMP-compliant manufacturing practices.

As part of our expansion, we are looking for a hands-on Assistant Production Manager to support our production leadership team and ensure smooth operations across our tablet and capsule manufacturing lines.

Role Description

The Assistant Production Manager will support the Production Manager and Production Head in overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations of tablets and capsules.

This role requires strong shop-floor involvement, supervision of production activities, coordination with QA/QC teams, and ensuring adherence to GMP standards and production timelines.

The position plays an important role in ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and documentation requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Production Execution

• Assist in executing daily production plans for tablet and capsule manufacturing.
• Supervise operations including granulation, compression, coating, capsule filling, and packing.
• Ensure production batches are completed within timelines and yield targets.

Shop Floor Supervision

• Monitor production staff including operators, technicians, and helpers.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP guidelines, and safety standards.
• Maintain discipline and smooth workflow on the shop floor.

Documentation & Compliance

• Assist in maintaining BMRs, BPRs, equipment logbooks, and production records.
• Coordinate with QA and QC teams for in-process checks and batch documentation.
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in real-time.

Process Monitoring

• Monitor machine performance, production efficiency, and batch yields.
• Identify deviations or operational issues and report to the Production Manager.
• Assist in troubleshooting production-related problems.

Coordination

• Coordinate with warehouse for raw and packing material availability.
• Work with maintenance teams for machine readiness and breakdown resolution.
• Support planning teams in meeting dispatch and batch timelines.

Qualifications

• B.Pharm / M.Pharm / BSc / MSc (Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences)
• 3–7 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Prior experience in tablet and capsule production is preferred
• Expertise in production management, process optimization, and workflow coordination
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Proficiency in data analysis and production software tools

Skills & Competencies

• Good understanding of tablet compression, granulation, coating, and capsule filling processes
• Familiarity with cGMP regulations, ISO standards, and quality assurance practices
• Ability to manage shop-floor operations and manpower
• Strong attention to quality, compliance, and production efficiency
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration
