Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Accounts & Finance to manage day-to-day accounting operations and support financial reporting in a fast-paced D2C environment. The role requires strong execution skills, accuracy, and a good understanding of e-commerce financial workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage end-to-end accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations)

Ensure accurate and timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual books

Maintain financial records as per accounting standards and company policies

2. D2C & E-commerce Financial Management

Handle accounting for marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, etc.)

Reconcile payment gateways, COD collections, returns, and refunds

Track platform commissions, logistics costs, and promotional spends

Monitor SKU-level profitability and contribution margins

3. MIS & Reporting

Prepare monthly MIS reports including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow

Provide actionable insights on revenue, cost optimization, and margins

4. Taxation & Compliance

Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, income tax returns, and other statutory compliances

Manage GST reconciliations, input credit, and audits

Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts

Monitor budget vs actual performance and highlight variances

Support founders in financial planning and decision-making

6. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

Monitor cash flow, vendor payments, and receivables

Optimize working capital and ensure liquidity for business operations

7. Team & Process Management

Lead and manage the accounts team (if applicable)

Implement financial controls, SOPs, and automation for efficiency

Work closely with operations, marketing, and supply chain teams

Key Requirements

Qualifications: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance)

4-8 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance

Experience in D2C / e-commerce / retail is preferred

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation (GST, TDS)

Experience with accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, etc.)

Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills

Understanding of D2C business models and metrics is an added advantage

High attention to detail and analytical mindset
