Position: Design Engineer - Structural Packaging

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer – Structural Packaging to execute high-quality structural designs using ArtiosCAD while managing multiple design requests, plotter samples, and conversion backlogs.

The ideal candidate will design creative and safety-focused packaging, trays, PDQs, and displays; provide structural recommendations to customers; develop white/color mockups; and prepare 3D presentations with assembly instructions or videos. This role requires strong technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on cost optimization and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Create conceptual and production-ready structural designs using ArtiosCAD per customer and plant specifications.
• Design primary, secondary, and display packaging solutions.
• Monitor and manage design backlogs, plotter sample requests, and conversion requests.
• Validate package performance through testing and support pilot runs and bulk production.
• Provide technical guidance for Offset, Digital, and Flexographic printing processes.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective structural solutions to enhance functionality, shelf appeal, and sustainability.
• Coordinate with sales, sourcing, QC, printers, converters, and global stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, specifications, and approval records.
• Act as focal point for design-related discussions and customer recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Diploma in Packaging Design, Product Design, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in structural packaging design and execution.
• At least 5 years’ experience in online printing.
• Full proficiency in ArtiosCAD (mandatory). Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong knowledge of Offset, Digital, and Flexographic printing.
• Strong 2D/3D visualization and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Navi Mumbai.
