About the Project:

Flawky Studios is an indie development collective building 'Project: Light & Shadow' a Single-Player Action-RPG in Unreal Engine 5. We are creating a unique 'Indo-Gothic' aesthetic, blending the oppressive, atmospheric tension of dark fantasy with the corrupted grandeur of ancient Indian architecture.

We are seeking a visionary Art Director & Lead 2D Artist to join our core leadership team. You will define the visual bible of the game, guiding the 3D team while personally crafting the concept art, UI, and branding that brings this fallen empire to life.

The Role:

This is a Director-Level Partnership. You aren't just an artist; you are the visual conscience of the project, ensuring every pixel aligns with our core pillars of 'Decay' and 'Divinity.'

Key Responsibilities:
  • Visual Direction & Leadership: Partner with the Game Director to establish the visual pillars. You will create the Style Guide and provide paintovers/feedback to 3D Environment and Character artists to ensure a cohesive universe.
  • Concept Art & World Building: Paint mood pieces and architectural breakdowns to visualize the Citadel and the corruption. Create detailed character/enemy turnarounds to guide 3D production.
  • UI/UX Design: Design the visual language of the game's menus, HUD, and inventory screens. Create high-quality 2D assets for Skill Trees and Map Markers while ensuring intuitive UX flow.
  • Branding & Marketing Art: Design the official Game Logo and illustrate high-resolution Key Art for the Steam Store page and marketing campaigns.

  • Qualifications:
  • Versatility: A strong portfolio showing a mix of Concept Art (Environments/Characters) and Graphic Design (UI/Logos).
  • Art Direction Ability to give constructive visual feedback (Paint-overs) to 3D artists.
  • Style Range: Ability to execute a dark, atmospheric 'Indo-Gothic' fantasy style.
  • Tools: Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent digital painting software. Experience with Figma/Adobe XD for UI prototyping is a plus.

  • Compensation & Partnership:
  • Role Type: Co-Development Partner (Contract/Equity).
  • Compensation: 6.0% Net Revenue Share (post-launch).
  • Note: This is an equity-based role with no monthly salary during development.
  • Commitment: Remote, task-based (~10-15 hours/ week).
  • Vesting: 6-Month Cliff to ensure long-term alignment. Attribution: You will be credited as Art Director in the game credits and marketing materials.
