Who We Are Looking For

Looking for an AML KYC / Screening professional who understands and performs Ongoing Sanctions, AML, PEP, and Negative News Screening to comply with regulatory requirements such as the SEC and investment guidelines stated in the Prospectus/Statement of Additional Information (SAI). The Officer is responsible for the operational management of the team, has direct managerial responsibility, and oversees risk mitigation, day‑to‑day and ongoing performance management.

Why This Role Is Important To Us

Ongoing Screening involves automated matching of input records (e.g., clients, customers, and accounts) against State Street’s Corporate Minimum List set by the Anti‑Money Laundering and Sanctions Business Unit SOP. The analyst reviews initial matches, performs materiality assessment, escalates potential matches to Compliance, and provides KPI and KRI reporting. This permanent position is within the department in Chennai.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Graduate degree, preferably in Finance.
  • Overall experience of 4 years or minimum 18 months as Associate 2 in State Street.
  • Perform KYC reviews on all entity types.
  • Demonstrate sound expertise in conducting Sanctions, AML, PEP, and negative news reviews.
  • Knowledge of screening tools such as WorldCheck and others.
  • Analyze complex ownership structures to assess risk exposure and applicable KYC/AML requirements.
  • Meet strict deadlines.
  • Reporting and work allocation skills add value.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain a quality percentage of 100%.
  • Communicate confidently, efficiently, and clearly in written and verbal form.
  • Be flexible with shifts, including night shifts if required.
  • Serve as the KYC expert, providing technical guidance to specialists.
  • Assist with external regulatory examinations or testing.

  • What We Value
  • Good knowledge of AML and KYC regulations such as FATF, FATCA, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to analyze investment guidelines and policies to determine testing requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal planning, and analytical skills.
  • Deadline‑ and detail‑oriented.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and strong problem‑solving abilities.

  • Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree, preferably in Finance.
  • Hands‑on experience with the complete KYC process.

  • Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
  • Certificates in AML fields such as ACAMS, ICA, etc.
