Role Overview

As an AI Developer and Manager, you will lead the development and maintenance of AI and machine learning models using Python while managing a small team of AI developers. You will combine hands-on technical expertise in building scalable AI solutions with leadership responsibilities, including team guidance, project planning, and strategic alignment. Our immediate focus is on backend AI development, with potential future expansion into full-stack capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• * Lead, mentor, and manage a team of AI developers, providing technical guidance, conducting performance reviews, and fostering professional growth.
• Develop, test, and maintain AI and machine learning models using Python, while overseeing the team's implementation efforts.
• Design and build LLM-powered applications and AI bots integrated with custom/application APIs in production environments.
• Implement and guide data manipulation, analysis, and preprocessing using libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex AI applications and models across the team’s projects.
• Participate in and lead code reviews to maintain high code quality, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
• Define technical strategy for AI initiatives, prioritize projects, manage timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align AI solutions with business goals and ensure successful delivery.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and related technologies, and drive adoption of emerging tools and practices within the team.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python as the primary programming language.
• Proven experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of LLM internals and the LLM ecosystem, including proprietary (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, etc.) and open-source models.
• Expertise in Python backend frameworks such as Django (preferred), FastAPI, or similar.
• Solid experience with NumPy, Pandas, and data manipulation/analysis for AI workflows.
• Strong understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and model development/deployment.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git/GitHub) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, etc.).
• Demonstrated leadership or management experience (e.g., leading small teams, mentoring developers, or owning end-to-end project delivery).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with ReactJS (including Next.js and TypeScript) for potential front-end expansion.
• Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, deployment pipelines) or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Hugging Face Transformers for natural language processing tasks.
• Prior experience in financial applications or real-estate financial applications.
• Exposure to agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI, machine learning, and Python development (with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role).
• Proven track record of delivering production-grade AI solutions independently and as part of (or leading) a team..
