Adjunct Faculty – Maintenance Management

About the Role

We are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member in Maintenance Management with strong industry experience and practical insights to bring to the classroom. The role is designed for professionals with hands-on experience in plant maintenance, asset management, reliability engineering, and industrial operations.

The adjunct faculty member will help students understand how maintenance strategy, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency are critical to modern manufacturing and infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Academic Engagement
  • Deliver lectures or modules related to Maintenance Management, Plant Operations, Asset Reliability, and Industrial Engineering.
  • Integrate industry case studies, operational challenges, and practical examples into classroom sessions.
  • Facilitate discussions on maintenance strategies and operational best practices used in industry.

  • Course Content and Industry Integration
  • Contribute to the development of practice-oriented course material in areas such as:
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Reliability and asset management
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Equipment lifecycle management
  • Maintenance cost optimization
  • Conduct guest lectures, workshops, or short modules on emerging technologies in maintenance such as IoT-enabled predictive maintenance and digital asset monitoring.

  • Student Mentorship
  • Guide students working on projects related to operations, manufacturing systems, and maintenance optimization.
  • Mentor students interested in careers in plant operations, manufacturing, infrastructure, and industrial engineering.

  • Qualifications

    Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology with significant industry experience in maintenance management, plant operations, or reliability engineering, OR
  • MBA (Operations / Supply Chain / Industrial Management) with strong industry experience in maintenance and operations management.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing plants, infrastructure operations, utilities, logistics facilities, or industrial operations.
  • Exposure to modern maintenance practices such as TPM, predictive maintenance, and digital asset management systems.
  • Prior teaching, training, or executive education experience will be an advantage.

  • Experience
  • Minimum 8–10 years of industry experience in areas such as:
  • Plant maintenance and operations
  • Equipment reliability and asset management
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Industrial safety and operational efficiency
  • Maintenance cost management

  • Nature of Engagement
  • Adjunct / Visiting Faculty position.
  • Engagement may involve teaching a course, delivering specialized modules, or conducting industry-focused workshops.
  • Sessions may be delivered in-person, hybrid, or block modules depending on the program schedule.

  • Have hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and plant operations.
