About the Role

We are looking to engage an Adjunct Faculty member in the area of Inventory and Material Management who brings strong industry experience and practical insights into supply chain and operations. The role is designed for experienced professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with students and contributing to practice-oriented management education.

The adjunct faculty member will support teaching and mentoring activities related to inventory planning, materials management, and supply chain operations, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry practice.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Academic Engagement
  • Deliver lectures or modules in courses related to Inventory Management, Materials Management, Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, and Logistics.
  • Integrate industry case studies, practical examples, and current practices into classroom sessions.
  • Guide students in projects, simulations, and case discussions related to inventory planning and supply chain decision-making.
  • Contribute to the design of practice-oriented course content aligned with industry needs.

  • Industry Integration
  • Bring insights from industry experience to help students understand operational challenges, best practices, and emerging trends in supply chain and inventory management.
  • Support guest sessions, workshops, or short modules on specialized topics such as:
  • Inventory optimization
  • Demand forecasting
  • Warehouse and materials management
  • ERP systems in inventory control
  • Lean supply chain practices

  • Student Mentorship
  • Mentor students interested in careers in operations, logistics, procurement, and supply chain management.
  • Provide inputs for industry projects, internships, or live consulting assignments.

  • Qualifications

    Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology with significant industry experience in inventory, materials management, logistics, or supply chain operations, OR
  • MBA (Operations / Supply Chain / Logistics) with substantial industry experience in the above areas.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, retail supply chains, or operations-intensive sectors.
  • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) or supply chain analytics tools.
  • Prior teaching, training, or industry mentoring experience will be an advantage.

  • Experience
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant industry experience in areas such as:
  • Inventory planning and control
  • Materials management
  • Procurement and vendor management
  • Supply chain operations
  • Warehouse and logistics management

  • Engagement Format
  • Adjunct / Visiting role on a course or module basis.
  • May involve in-person sessions, hybrid delivery, or short teaching modules depending on the program structure.
