Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and design-focused 2D Concept Artist to help visualize and

define the visual direction of our game world. The role focuses on creating production-ready

concept art for characters, environments, props, and gameplay elements, ensuring that

designs are visually strong and clearly structured for game asset production.

This role requires strong artistic fundamentals, solid design thinking, and the ability to translate

written ideas and gameplay requirements into structured visual concepts that support game

production.

The ideal candidate understands that concept art in game development is not only about visual

quality but also about clear communication of design, structure, scale, and functionality for

3D production.

Responsibilities

● Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and

gameplay-related assets, including design explorations, variations, and

production-ready concept sheets.

● Design character concepts including silhouettes, costumes, gear, and visual

identity aligned with the project’s art direction.

● Develop visual explorations, mood boards, and style studies to support the project’s

art direction.

● Produce clear and production-friendly concept sheets that guide 3D artists during

asset creation.

● Generate multiple design variations and iterate quickly based on feedback from the

art and design teams.

● Ensure concepts maintain consistency with the project’s visual style and design

language.

● Communicate materials, structure, scale, and functionality clearly within concept

designs.

● Collaborate closely with 3D artists, designers, and the art team to ensure concepts

translate efficiently into game-ready assets.

● Support the team in visualizing gameplay spaces, environmental storytelling

elements, and interactive objects when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● Strong fundamentals in:

○ drawing and sketching

○ composition

○ lighting

○ color theory

○ perspective

● Ability to design game environments, props, and visual elements with clear structural

logic.

● Strong understanding of design clarity required for game asset production.

● Proficiency in digital art tools such as:

○ Adobe Photoshop

○ Procreate or similar digital painting tools

● Ability to produce:

○ early ideation sketches

○ design explorations and variations

○ refined final concept art

○ production-ready concept sheets

○ orthographic views when required

● Ability to translate written briefs or gameplay requirements into clear visual designs.

● Strong creativity combined with practical design thinking.

● Passion for video games and game development.

● Intermediate English communication skills are required for collaboration and

feedback discussions.

Experience Requirements

● 2–4 years of experience as a Concept Artist, Visual Designer, or Digital Illustrator in

games or related media.

● A strong portfolio demonstrating:

○ character ideation & design

○ environment concepts

○ prop or asset designs

○ design exploration and iteration

○ production-ready concept sheets

● Portfolio work should clearly show design thinking and structured visual

development, not only final illustrations.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a concept art evaluation test designed to

assess:

● design thinking

● ideation and exploration

● clarity of visual communication

● ability to produce production-friendly concepts

the hiring process.

Bonus Skills (Preferred)

● Prior experience working in the game development industry.

● Understanding of 3D production workflows and how concepts translate into game

assets.

● Basic knowledge of 3D tools such as Blender for blockouts or concept development.

● Experience creating environment design or architectural concepts for games.

This role focuses on design-driven concept art used for game production.

The ability to create clear, buildable designs and communicate ideas visually is more
