Noida Protest: Violence erupted in Noida on Monday as a three-day-long labour union workers’ protest over wage demands spiralled into arson, clashes and widespread disruption.The protest took an aggressive turn after the employees damaged vehicles and burnt one.

Eyewitnesses said that the agitators overturned a police vehicle and engaged in stone-pelting, intensifying the already tense situation. This is the fourth consecutive day of unrest, as employees continue to gather in large numbers to demand better pay.

The protests broke out in several areas of Noida-Hosiery Complex in Phase-2, around Madrasan Factory, near Sector-60 Metro Station, and Sector-62 roundabout and inside a factory premises of Sector 63. Authorities are struggling to bring the situation under control due to the scale of the protests and the aggressive behavior of the employees.
