Apple released the fourth iOS 26 beta on Tuesday, July 22. The latest iOS beta introduces several changes to the Liquid Glass interface, along with a slew of new features. In the last beta, Apple had dialed down the transparency, which led some users to refer to the design language as “frosted glass” instead.

However, Apple has undone the changes it introduced in the previous beta,  while making elements more visible. This means that while the reflections are now on par with the second iOS 26 beta, when users are checking their notifications in the Notification Center, the background automatically gets a bit darker to increase readability.

Apple has reintroduced the AI-powered notification summaries feature for news, which was disabled in previous iOS 26 betas after users complained that Apple Intelligence encountered errors when it came to generating summaries in the News and Entertainment category. However, Apple also shows a warning that says “Summarization may change the meaning of the original headlines” and suggests users to “Verify information”.
