Cricket is a popular outdoor team sport played between two teams of 11 players each. It is especially famous in countries like India, England, Australia, Pakistan, and South Africa. The game is played on a large circular or oval field with a rectangular pitch in the center. At each end of the pitch, there is a set of wooden stumps called a wicket. One team bats while the other team bowls and fields. The batting team tries to score runs by hitting the ball with a bat and running between the wickets or by hitting boundaries. A ball hit to the edge of the field scores four runs, and if it crosses the boundary without touching the ground, it scores six runs. The bowling team aims to dismiss the batsmen by hitting the stumps, catching the ball, or using other methods like run-outs. After a set number of overs (a group of 6 balls), teams switch roles.
