The Opportunity

Varaha has established strong market traction, profitability, and partnerships with leading global technology companies through a highly focused, relationship led growth strategy. We are now seeking a VP / Head of Marketing to join our leadership team and build our marketing organization from the ground up as our first dedicated marketing hire.

This role presents a unique platform for a strategic builder to formalize and scale our marketing efforts. Leveraging our existing momentum and strong market fundamentals, you will architect a powerful global narrative, accelerate pipeline growth for enterprise accounts, and solidify Varaha as the undisputed category leader in carbon removal. You will oversee the entire marketing stack, including account based marketing, field events, PR and communications, and partner enablement.

Reporting to: CEO & CCO

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Communications Leadership

    • Define and lead Varaha's global brand narrative as a highly trusted market leader.

    • Position Varaha as a pioneer in climate tech and high integrity carbon markets.

    • Build and execute a global PR strategy and secure tier 1 international media coverage.

    • Translate complex topics (soil health, carbon removal science, climate finance) into compelling storytelling.

    Enterprise ABM & Partner Marketing

    • Develop and execute highly targeted Account Based Marketing (ABM) strategies for a concentrated universe of high value enterprise carbon buyers.

    • Build structured co marketing programs and enablement kits for key channel partners to reliably generate qualified introductions and scale revenue.

    • Provide executive communications support, stakeholder mapping, and deal stage content to accelerate pipeline and conversions.

    Product Marketing & Content Strategy

    • Oversee the creation of a crisp, scientifically disciplined narrative architecture across all our carbon removal project types.

    • Manage the creation of high quality decks, videos, one pagers, and branded assets.

    • Ensure website and digital properties reflect credibility, transparency, and portfolio strength.

    Field Marketing & Ecosystem Presence

    • Develop a strategic conference plan and secure speaking opportunities for founders.

    • Plan global webinars, roundtables, and curated investor and buyer events to generate executive conversations.

    • Represent Varaha authentically in climate and sustainability forums.

    Team & Leadership

    • Build and mentor a high performance marketing team.

    • Manage agencies, consultants, and creative partners.

    • Act as a strong strategic partner who collaborates tightly with sales, science, policy, legal, and delivery teams.

    • Create a culture of creativity, ownership, and accountability.

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years in marketing, PR, or communications with 4+ years in senior leadership.

    • Experience in startups or high-growth environments (climate-tech a strong plus).

    • Proven experience building enterprise demand in a targeted, named account universe focusing on ABM and field marketing.

    • Exceptional storyteller with the ability to simplify complex technical narratives.

    • Demonstrated ability to market an intangible, high trust product in regulated, risk heavy, or assurance driven categories.

    • Strong media relationships and track record of securing high impact coverage.

    • Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and execution-focused.

    • Direct experience in carbon markets, MRV, registries, or adjacent climate infrastructure is highly preferred.
