Position: Finance Controller (FC)

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana

Role Overview : We are looking for a highly skilled Finance Controller to manage Varaha’s finance and accounting functions. The FC will ensure robust financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning, playing a critical role in supporting our growth and mission to drive climate-positive impact at scale.


Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.

    • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimize financial performance.

    • Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.

    • Lead audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

    • Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.

    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to monitor project economics and financial viability of climate initiatives.

    • Drive process improvements, automation, and best practices in finance operations.

    Qualifications and Experience   

    • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.

    • 7–12 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in startups, climate tech, or impact-driven organizations.

    • Strong understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, and corporate governance.

    • Experience with international projects, multi-currency accounting, and donor/funder reporting is a plus.

    • Proficiency in financial systems and ERP tools.

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
